Civic: Supporting Conservation Programs and Safety Infrastructure
Valero supports initiatives that foster the success of communities where we live and work,
including revitalization of city parks, beaches, zoos, libraries and museums, as well as
safety infrastructure, including police, 昀椀re and emergency management services. Some
examples include:
Pembroke, Wales – Valero volunteers supported the
cleanup of four local beaches, removing debris and
other waste from the shoreline.

St. Charles Parish, Louisiana – Valero donated
$250,000 for the renovations of the New Sarpy
Park, including a covered pavilion over the
basketball court.
Memphis, Tennessee – Valero contributed
$1 million to the renovation of Tom Lee Park, a
revitalized riverfront city park. Valero volunteers are
active in cleanup efforts and tree plantings, as well as
supporting 昀椀eld trips for students to the park.
Lakota, Iowa – Valero funded the Ledyard
Fire Department’s purchase of a Heiman Fire
Thunderstorm slide-in unit, enhancing 昀椀re
apparatus and emergency response capabilities.
Port Arthur, Texas – Valero donated $125,000 in the
Port Arthur American Little League to build a baseball
training facility, including an integrated learning center
for underserved youth.
St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana – Valero funded a
new drone for the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Of昀椀ce
to support search and rescue, disaster response,
crime scene documentation and situational
awareness during critical incidents.
Make-A-Wish Spotlight
Since 2021, Valero, through the Valero Bene昀椀t for
Children, has contributed more than $1.4 million to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast and
Louisiana, helping grant life-changing wishes to children
across our communities. This partnership has brought
has brought to life more than 100 wishes in communities
surrounding Valero re昀椀neries in Texas and Louisiana.
In April 2026, Make-A-Wish honored Valero at its annual
Wish Ball in Houston. Representatives from the Valero
St. Charles, Port Arthur, Houston, Texas City and Corpus
Christi re昀椀neries were on hand to accept the award on
Valero’s behalf.
Over the years, wishes have ranged from hosting a
Quinceañera to sending children to Walt Disney World
or on other dream trips. Other wishes have included
inviting kids who dream of becoming engineers to visit
our sites to spend time with Valero engineers.
Every wish is fueled by courage, hope and a dream—and
