Annual health
screenings measure
key indicators to
provide a valuable,
comprehensive picture
of individual health –
and a baseline to
allow for more educated, proactive wellness decisions
and discussions with healthcare providers. This annual
service is offered at no cost to all U.S. Valero employees
and certain eligible dependents and retirees.
Military Service Leave Beyond Minimum Standards
(U.S.) – Valero provides up to 10 days of full pay
annually, followed by differential pay for employees
called to military service for up to 24 months. Valero
employees and their families continue to be eligible
to receive all company-sponsored health and welfare
bene昀椀ts while on military service leave.
Fitness Centers, Subsidies and Online
Resources
Valero supports employees' mental health and
emotional well-being through programs and resources
that help employees and their families navigate life's
challenges, build resilience and thrive both at work and
at home.
Fitness centers are available at most major U.S.
locations, including a full-time 昀椀tness staff at Valero
Headquarters. Wellness resources and programs are
designed to support employees' physical health goals
through both in-person and virtual offerings.
Childcare
The children of Valero employees are an important
extension of Team Valero. Parents have access to stateof-the-art, licensed and accredited childcare centers,
on-site at company headquarters and within local
operations areas nationwide. Employees are granted
discounted services (HQ) or a stipend to support
childcare expenses (Field). Back-up childcare and
tutoring services are also available through a thirdparty Valero partnership.
Vacation and Leave Programs
Competitive paid leave allowances provide shortand long-term support while employees are away,
encouraging greater emotional and physical wellness
upon return to work. Programs include, but are not
limited to:
Vacation Time – Competitive vacation schedules are
based on years of service and recognition of relevant
prior experience upon hire.
Childbirth and Parental Leave – In the United States,
employees are eligible for nine weeks of paid childbirth
leave beginning on their date of hire. In addition, all new
parents – including adoptive and surrogate parents –
receive three weeks of paid parental leave. Birth mothers
receive a total of 12 weeks of paid leave. Employees
also receive resources and support before the arrival of
a child. Outside the United States, paid leave bene昀椀ts
meet or exceed applicable legal requirements.

Family Illness Leave – U.S. employees are eligible for 10
days of paid leave to care for family members. Outside
the United States, leave bene昀椀ts meet or exceed
applicable legal requirements.

Employee Assistance Program – Life
Connections
Life Connections is a con昀椀dential, free support service
that provides access to a wide range of employee and
family support, including:
• Wellness tips and reminders
• Childcare and eldercare referral services and
suggestions
• Counseling services for family, relationships, stress,
grief and other concerns
• Support programs for mental health conditions, such
as insomnia, chronic pain and substance abuse
Similar assistance programs and resources are offered
for our international employees in the U.K. and Ireland,
Canada and Mexico. In Peru, a certi昀椀ed social worker is
employed to support the needs of our employees.
Behavioral and Mental Health Benefits
Valero offers a variety of programs and resources
to promote mental health awareness and support
individual well-being. These include access to wellness
professionals, meditation resources, stress and
anxiety workshops, awareness campaigns, nutritional
counseling and annual screenings.

• Mobile app offering support for anxiety, depression
and stress
• Virtual therapy sessions through multiple providers
