families by reimbursing a portion of adoption-related

not require repayment.
Taking Care of Benicia Employees in California
Throughout Valero’s transition to idle our Valero Benicia Re昀椀nery by April 2026, our top priority was
supporting our employees. We recognized that this transition was more than a business decision –
it was a major life change for many employees and their families. Our focus was to provide
stability, options and support as employees made important decisions about their futures. We
committed to continuing employment for all Benicia re昀椀nery employees in good standing
who expressed an interest in transferring within the company. Employees who remained
with Valero received retention incentive payments, while those who chose to retire or pursue
opportunities outside the company were offered separation packages that included separation
payments, outplacement services, and continued health bene昀椀ts for a period of time. As a result
of these efforts, 150 employees accepted and were transferred to 10 Valero locations across the
United States, allowing them to remain a part of the Valero family. By providing employment
opportunities, 昀椀nancial support, and transition resources, we worked to ensure employees and
their families felt supported.
